Struggle or Joy? you get to choose.

What do you want this experience of parenting to be, for you?

We can get lost in the daily "doing" of raising children, and forget to take time to reflect on what it is all for. Are you enjoying this ride? How is your sense of fulfillment? Are you living from your heart each day?

If you are longing for parenting to be a path with heart, to feel joy instead of struggle, then make a conscious choice for it to be so. How, you ask? Here are three ways that will help...

1. Be sure that CONNECTION is what you want, always. Every interaction is either harmful or helpful, either about control or connection. When you check in with yourself before you take any action with your child, ask whether you are seeking connection or control.

When you seek control, you are attempting to get your child to do what you want him to do. When you seek connection, you are trying to understand out what is happening on a deeper level, what your child needs, find strategies to meet both your needs, and you are more able to let go of getting your own way. You know that your relationship is far more important than anything else. You step into the flow, and that is where joy lives.

2. Listen to your INTUITION rather than all the "shoulds" of your past programming, societal norms, or whatever. Your intuition, or your heart, is your primary guide. It is always there for you with the wisdom to know what's right for you and your child in each moment. The "shoulds" live in your head, they emerge from your thinking/ego mind. Your intuition lives in your body...maybe your heart, maybe your gut. Listen beyond the chattering in your brain and there you will find your true knowing. This will give you a sense of peace that no book or "expert" ever can.

3. See your CHILD AS YOUR GREATEST TEACHER. Are you willing to be transformed by this experience? Are you willing to change yourself, to be open what your child has come to show you? When you stop being in charge all the time and begin to listen and observe this radiant being in front of you, you will learn and grow in ways that are beyond fulfilling.

How do you know when you are living a path with heart? You and your children will experience more and more joy. That is what we want for you....to find the bliss that is yours.
