How Do I “DO” Natural Parenting?

This is the BIG QUESTION… After you’ve read the books about the value of natural parenting, and you feel inspired and motivated to relate to your child in respectful ways, at some point you get stuck. It is tremendously challenging because most of us need to unlearn deeply entrenched patterns and conditioning from our own parents. Furthermore, there are very few role models for this way of being with children. The way that our brain works is that whenever we are under any form of stress, from dinner burning to divorce, we revert to our unconscious habits…yelling, ultimatums, bribery, and worse.

The Natural Parenting Center is all about the HOW. We will help you unlearn old habits and make very practical and very real changes in how you relate to your kids (and yourself). You want to know HOW to put all of these ideals into practice on a daily basis in the real world. That’s exactly what we are here for.

We’re interested in helping you learn

  • how to encourage without reward or praise
  • how to maintain harmony without punishment (and establish self discipline)
  • how to facilitate learning without “teaching”
  • how to ask questions which develop thinking
  • how to give choices without being permissive
  • how to develop consideration for others without “say please”, shaming or training
  • how to develop independence (attachment)
  • how to ensure healthy future relationships (attachment and trust)
  • how to keep children safe without instilling “fear”
  • how to experience cooperation and harmony without using manipulation
